2019 marked 50th year of PMI. While we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we want to focus special attention on the professionals; PMI members, credential holders, volunteers and all those who consider project, program and portfolio management their profession, for their great accomplishments in not just delivering successful outcomes, but in making a difference.
PMI Colombo, Sri Lanka Chapter is the official representative Charter of the Project Management Institute in Sri Lanka, and primarily contributes to the sustainable development of Sri Lanka by introducing best practices, standards, and professional development to those professionals managing or administering Projects, programs or portfolios.
We strive to develop and enhance the field of Project management within Sri Lanka and promote it as a key profession by increasing awareness on its importance for organizational success whether it be in the public or private sectors of our Country. PMI Colombo, Sri Lanka Chapter strongly believes, that by promoting the best practices among the professional community within Sri Lanka, Organizations could significantly increase the efficiency and effectiveness of projects undertaken by them. We also facilitate and encourage professionals to become certified as Project Management Professionals (PMP®).

PMICSL has been organizing monthly member forums where a professional from related fields deliver lectures and share their knowledge for the benefit of all practicing Project Managers in Sri Lanka
As part of giving back to the community, PMICSL has organized CSR events such as beach cleaning etc in association with nature protection societies and school painting project with the National Photographic Art Society of Sri Lanka.
PMI Conference 2020
In addition to the furthering of Project, Portfolio, and Program management within Sri Lanka and the Region; the objectives of this conference is to Enhance Sri Lanka’s Image in global eyes, promote good governance, professionalism, create a forum for Senior Sri Lankan professionals to interact with their counterparts throughout the region and the rest of the world, as well as to raise funds to sustain the many voluntary community project undertaken by the PMI Colombo, Sri Lanka Chapter.
It is estimated that approximately 400 professionals and representatives from both Government and Private industries within Sri Lanka and overseas will attend this event.
This year the Project Management conference is scheduled to be held on 11th February 2020 at The Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo. The theme of the conference is “Trailblazers: Disruption made possible by a Project Manager” and the organizers expect the event to be a resounding success as per the earlier conferences.
